*KidsFest is proud to present and provide a stage to some of Athens newest and freshest talent in our area. The musical history and influence of Athens plants the creative seeds in our youth. In addition, such programs as AthFest in Schools, Camp Amped, The Boys & Girls Club, and school music programs cultivate a love and knowledge of music. See what talent we have growing in our area and who will be keeping Athens in the musical spotlight for years to come.

**Shaunna is brought to you by the AthFest Education Committee, which has been providing educational performances for children in after school programs. Contact us for information on how to bring such programs to your school.

What to Expect:

Athens Boys & Girls Club: Straight from the recording studio located in Athens' Boys & Girls Club, three new up and coming bands will perform: Guitars Not Guns, Jack R. Wells Choir, & Glenn Reese. The Boys & Girls Club has so much to offer!

Chris the Bucketman: The Bucket drummer show consists of high energy drumming on 5-gallon buckets. Groovy beats combined with comedy and crowd interaction makes this show enjoyable for people of all ages. Look for him on the streets Friday and Saturday night, too!

New Revolution Taekwondo: Watch as boards are broken, aerial tricks & stunts performed, and high-level kicking/punching combinations are demonstrated by New Revolution's demo teams. Be sure to try out some punches yourself at their table under the KidsFest tents.

706: A homegrown band from Clarke Central High School, this full band will showcase their soulful originals and covers from their soon to be released first album. This band promises to keep the 706 area in the musical spotlight for years to come.

Sylvia Lee Walker: All the way from Oglethorpe County, this 10 year old fireball has an incredible voice well beyond her years. Sylvia Lee will captivate you with her classic country style.

The Torpideros: The Torpideros are a rock band made up of mature students and immature teachers from Oglethorpe County Middle/High School. Specializing in rock and punk covers, what the Torpideros lack in skill is made up for with volume and spirit.

Shauna Greeson: A regular performer in schools with the AthFest Education Committee, Shaunna will be playing classic children songs mixed with originals.

Pam Blanchard & the Sunny-Side Up Band: The Sunny-Side Up Band brings their brand of original and interactive music to the streets of AthFest to get little toes a tappin'. Come enjoy this family friendly band as they perform their award winning songs guaranteed to get children and adults smiling and dancing in the streets.

Nuci's Space's Camp Amped: You will be amazed at what these young bands have mastered in only two weeks at Camp Amped! From song writing to recording, these kids have done it all and are ready to show their stuff.

Lizzy Reece: Accompanied by a guitarist, Lizzy will dazzle you with her beautiful singing voice.

Lauren Allen: This young singer/guitarist is already a veteran festival performer, having made appearances at The Hoot, Human Rights Festival, and Camp Amped.

Alex Teich: With original songs and covers influenced by such notables as The Beatles, AC/DC, and Stevie Ray Vaughn, this accomplished guitar player is sure to impress.

Burton Hood: Only NINE years old, this amazingly talented musician will play a retrospective of Athens music. See how the new generation is still being influenced by the music of Athens past.

Sara O'Brien and the HoneyBabes: Music written by kids, for kids! An interactive performance of singing, dancing and opportunities for your children to express their wacky, wild, weird selves. BEING WEIRD IS COOL!

Pam Blanchard Solo: The littlest Athenians have Pam all to themselves as she gives a special solo performance designed to delight preschoolers.  Parents and children will both enjoy the interactive set with a musician who is in tune with her audience.
